The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the IEEE EMBS Sri Lanka Section Chapter was held on 21st December 2024 at the University of Moratuwa . The meeting marked the conclusion of the 2024 term and the transition to the new executive committee for 2025 . Meeting Proceedings The session commenced with the minutes of the meeting presented by the outgoing Chair , followed by the 2024 event report and the budget report delivered by the outgoing Treasurer . Subsequently, Vice Chair Umaya Balagalla presented proposed amendments to the chapter constitution . The membership, along with IEEE Sri Lanka Section Chair Dhammika Marasinghe , provided feedback on the suggestions. It was unanimously agreed to hold a Special General Meeting (SGM) to finalize and approve the revised constitution. Election of the 2025 Committee The Election Officer, Dr. Ruwan Ranaweera , announced the newly elected executive committee for 2025 , which was selected from the nominations: Chair – Umaya Balagalla Vice Chair – Isura Dhananjaya Secretary – Lakshan Madhushanka Treasurer – Manura Jithmal Additionally, nominations were made during the AGM for two key positions: SYW Coordinator – Kavindu Nirmana Assistant Secretary – Kavindu Samara Wickrama Plans for 2025 & Conclusion Following the elections, the newly appointed Chair, Umaya Balagalla , presented the chapter’s plan for 2025 , outlining strategic goals and initiatives for the upcoming year. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the newly appointed Secretary, Lakshan Madhushanka , followed by a refreshments session , marking the beginning of a new term for the IEEE EMBS Sri Lanka Section Chapter.
