"Building the Web: A Creative Journey into the World of Basic Web Development" is an engaging and hands-on workshop designed to introduce the fundamentals of web development to Level 1 and 2 students from both science and non-science disciplines at the University of Jaffna. This session will provide participants with an understanding of web page structure, styling techniques, and the significance of web development in today's digital world. The workshop will cover essential topics such as HTML and CSS for structuring and styling web pages, as well as the use of Bootstrap technology to create responsive designs that adapt to different screen sizes. Participants will have the opportunity to apply their learning through interactive exercises and a web designing contest, where they will be tasked with designing a webpage for IEEE WIE-UoJ. To recognize their efforts, all participants will receive a certificate of participation. Additionally, the top three designs will be awarded special certificates, with the winning website being officially launched as the IEEE WIE-UoJ website. This initiative aims to inspire creativity and digital literacy while equipping students with valuable web development skills that can be applied in academic and professional settings.
