The IEEE Student Branch of the Open University of Sri Lanka (IEEE OUSL SB), in collaboration with IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) OUSL, successfully hosted an Awareness Session on 9th October 2024 . The event aimed to introduce students to IEEE, its global impact, and the benefits of being part of the IEEE community. The session featured Mrs. Sherylyne Brown as the Chief Guest , along with Prof. Damith Wickramarathna , who shared valuable insights on professional development, networking, and research opportunities within IEEE. With an enthusiastic participation of 90 attendees , the event provided an interactive platform to engage students from various disciplines. Key highlights included discussions on IEEE memberships, career-building opportunities, and the significance of WIE in empowering women in STEM. The IEEE OUSL Student Branch continues its commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration, inspiring students to excel in their academic and professional journeys through IEEE.
