RobotNexus 2 Workshop 1

February 15, 2025 · 3:30 AM - 9:30 AM @ Colombo, 29 Lauries Rd, Colombo 4

Description

The first session set the groundwork for the entire series, focusing on the core principles of robotics, sensors, motors, and C++ programming. Participants were introduced to different types of sensors and their applications in robotics, such as infrared (IR) sensors, ultrasonic sensors, and gyroscopes, which play a vital role in obstacle detection and navigation. The session also covered motor control mechanisms, helping students understand how different motors such as servo motors, DC motors, and stepper motors enable precise movements in a robot. A significant portion of the workshop was dedicated to C++ programming, as it serves as the backbone for controlling robotic systems. Beginners and experienced programmers alike had the opportunity to learn and refine their coding skills, understanding how to write efficient programs for sensor integration and motor control. By the end of Day 1, participants had a solid theoretical understanding of robotics and were well-prepared to move into hands-on development in the next session.
