Minutes for the online meeting conducted on 23, February 2025 Date: February 23, 2025 Time: 9:00 PM – 10:00 PM Location: Google Meet Attendees: Haritha Madanayake Heshani Maddage Sahan Samuditha Amanda Sewwandi Dhesshana Alagiyawanna Chathuki Amarasinghe Chamod Devaranga Menura Basitha Total Number of Participants: 8 Agenda: Selection process for IEEE Student Branch Ambassador WIE Affinity Group interview Discussion regarding the new EMBS Chapter Planning for IEEE Awurudu Event Discussion on the "Insight Wave" online event series Meeting Proceedings: 1. Ambassador Selection:It was proposed to create a Google Form and officially open a call for applications to select IEEE Student Branch Ambassadors. 2. WIE Affinity Group Interviews: As the interviews for the WIE Standing Committee members are about to begin, it was suggested that a few members from the Student Branch participate in the interview process to support and observe. 3. New EMBS Chapter: Initial discussions took place regarding the formation of a new EMBS (Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society) Chapter under the Student Branch. 4. IEEE Awurudu Event: A rough concept for the IEEE Awurudu celebration was presented and discussed. Ideas on event structure, potential activities, and organizing committee roles were shared. 5. Insight Wave Online Event Series: Insight Wave, an upcoming online event series, was discussed. It was suggested to form an organizing committee (OC) for the event. The format and possible flow of the event series were also discussed in brief. Decisions Made: • A form will be created and shared to initiate the Ambassador selection process. • Selected Student Branch members will participate in the WIE interviews to offer support. • Planning will begin for the IEEE Awurudu event, with further discussions in the upcoming meetings. • A call for the organizing committee of the Insight Wave event series will be made, and planning will proceed accordingly. The meeting concluded at 10:00 PM.
