The IEEE Student Branch of the University of Jaffna successfully organized an AI Image Generation Competition as part of Future Fest 2025 , themed around the "How Sri Lanka will celebrate the Sinhala & Tamil New Year in 2050". The event aimed to foster creativity and innovation among undergraduates by challenging them to use AI tools to create culturally-inspired digital artwork. The competition encouraged students to blend tradition with technology by generating AI-based images that represented the spirit of Aurudu in a futuristic or modernized context. Participants submitted their artwork along with brief descriptions of their creative approach. Objectives: To encourage students to explore the intersection of AI and digital creativity. To celebrate Sri Lankan New Year through technology-inspired art. To promote the use of AI tools in visual content creation among undergraduates. To enhance IEEE’s outreach and engagement through social media-based competitions. Event Highlights: Over 25 entries were received from universities across Sri Lanka. Participants used various AI tools like DALL·E, MidJourney, and Bing Image Creator. All participants received e-certificates . The winner was selected based on Facebook post reactions (likes, shares, etc.). A cash prize of LKR 5,000 was awarded to the winner. The winning artwork was featured on the official IEEE SB UoJ page.
