The IEEE Computer Society SBC chair started the discussion by providing an update on the expenses of Codemania V5.0, outlining the financial allocations and expenditures related to the event. He also addressed the challenges faced in covering the event budget, highlighting the team's efforts to manage resources effectively. Additionally, he shared insights on the current status and upcoming plans for the "Cloud Space" project, which is scheduled for execution in the 2nd quarter. The discussion highlighted key milestones, expected outcomes, and preparatory steps to ensure successful project deployment. The Industrial Electronics Society SBC chair shared the ongoing preparations for the upcoming Sri Lanka Arduino Challenge, scheduled for August. He announced the completion of the Organizing Committee (OC) for the event and emphasized that registrations are now open, running parallel to the Sri Lanka Section Challenge Sphere registrations. Next, the SB Vice Chair provided a comprehensive update on the ongoing Merchandise Project, emphasizing the current number of orders received and drawing attention to the gap between the actual figures and the expected count. This update served as a prompt for further discussion on strategies to boost engagement and increase participation in the project. In addition, he elaborated on several key initiatives currently underway within the Student Branch. Notably, he shared progress updates on SPARK VI. This upcoming event aims to celebrate the 7th anniversary of the student branch, which will commemorate the achievements and milestones of the Student Branch over the years. The event is set to take place on May 24th, 2025, at the Village End Holiday Resort in Padukka. The event is expected to bring together members for a day of reflection, celebration, and community-building. As another special update, he emphasized the opening of the ExCom application call for the 2025/26 term of our Student Branch. During the discussion, we collectively agreed on May 9 as the deadline for application submissions. We also engaged in a productive conversation about the structure and process for conducting the upcoming interviews. To conclude the meeting, the SB Chair started a discussion on the upcoming requested event titled "අඬහැරය." He outlined the specific requirements communicated by the SLSAC and raised concerns regarding the potential challenges the Student Branch might face in organizing the event. The discussion focused on logistical constraints, resource availability, and possible solutions to overcome anticipated difficulties. Following this thoughtful exchange of ideas and concerns, the meeting was officially concluded.
