WIE Executive Committee * Advisor Meeting Date: 24th April 2025 Time: 10:00 PM – 11:00 PM Venue: Virtual Chairperson: Minuri Navoddhika Secretary: Dilini Sewwandi Attendance: Mrs. Prabhani Liyanage – WIE Affinity Group Advisor 4 out of 6 WIE Executive Committee Members Discussion Points & Decisions: Introduction and Progress Sharing This was the first official meeting with the newly appointed WIE Affinity Group Advisor, Mrs. Prabhani Liyanage. The ExCom members presented an overview of the work completed so far. Year Plan Review The WIE year plan was presented to the Advisor. Mrs. Prabhani recommended incorporating more STEM-related activities to align with the core objectives of WIE. As a result, revisions will be made to the existing year plan. Panel Discussion Planning – SheSpeaks 1.0 Discussed the upcoming SheSpeaks 1.0 panel discussion. Shared the selected topic and brainstormed approaches to finding suitable speakers. Funding Process Discussed the procedure for applying funds for future activities. Madam shared a relevant link with guidelines and resources for fund application. Fundraising Stall Feedback Updated the Advisor about the recently held fundraising stall (cotton candy, fresh juice, and mehendi) which was conducted with the support of Standing Committee members. Informed her that the budget report was already shared with the Advisory Board. Mrs. Prabhani explained the proper procedure for organizing stalls and submitting budget reports for approval and recordkeeping. Action Items: 🔹 Update and reshare the revised year plan with STEM emphasis. 🔹 Start identifying and contacting potential panel speakers. 🔹 Review the shared fund application link and follow proper procedure. 🔹 Ensure future fundraising activities follow the Advisor's outlined process.
