IEEE Navigator 2.0, organized by the IEEE Student Branch of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, successfully welcomed the new intake-42 students of the Faculty of Computing into the esteemed IEEE community. The session provided a comprehensive introduction to IEEE’s mission, its various technical and professional branches, and their pivotal role in fostering innovation, professional development, and global networking. It highlighted IEEE's unique opportunities for personal and professional growth through a range of events, technical projects, and leadership development initiatives. The event also featured success stories from past members, motivating students to actively engage in IEEE activities to enhance their technical expertise, cultivate leadership skills, and acquire valuable practical knowledge. Interactive discussions, entertainment activities, and guidance from distinguished IEEE leaders contributed to creating an energizing and inspiring atmosphere. Students were encouraged to view IEEE as an invaluable platform for connecting with a global network of technology and engineering professionals, broadening their horizons, and paving the way for a promising future in the industry. Furthermore, the event included a formal farewell session for Dr. Kalani Ilmini, the former IEEE Student Branch counselor, during which a token of appreciation was presented in recognition of her exceptional service and dedication to IEEE. This gesture acknowledged her significant contributions to the IEEE community, which have left a lasting impact on the organization and its members.
