As a part of the Next Chapter 1.0 series, the IEEE Student Branch of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka , in collaboration with Econlabs , hosted a highly interactive Mock Interview Session designed to prepare undergraduates for the real-world hiring process. The event, moderated by Ms. Oshara Ranasinghe , simulated professional interview experiences in various IT roles. Interviewees were placed in role-specific breakout rooms such as: Software Engineer Project Manager Quality Assurance Engineer UI/UX Designer Cybersecurity Analyst AI/ML Engineer Industry experts from Econlabs , including experienced professionals like Sameera Arachchige , Shimary Fernando , Dhanakshi Kurera , and Sandun Karunatilleke , served as interviewers, providing participants with realistic evaluations and constructive feedback . The session was well-structured, offering a glimpse into corporate expectations and helping students refine their confidence, communication, and job-readiness skills. A vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Akila Thikshana , Project Chair of Next Chapter 1.0 , followed by a group photo to commemorate the impactful event. The event was a resounding success, as many participants gained valuable insights from experienced interviewers. They discovered the exact skills and areas of improvement needed to align themselves with industry expectations, making the session both eye-opening and impactful.
