The “Introduction to Robotics & Industry 4.0” awareness session, organized by IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka, was held on the 26th of April 2025 via Microsoft Teams starting at 6:00 PM IST. As part of the Robotics in Industry 4.0: Automation and Smart Manufacturing Workshop Series, the session aimed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of robotics and explore how automation and smart technologies are transforming modern industries. The event featured an enlightening keynote by Prof. Ruwan Gopura, Professor in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, who shared his expertise on the integration of robotics within the framework of Industry 4.0. His talk provided attendees with valuable insights into the technological advancements shaping the future of manufacturing and industrial processes. The session was highly engaging, with an active Q&A segment that allowed participants to directly interact with the speaker, creating a dynamic and responsive atmosphere.
