The “AI & Machine Learning in Industrial Robotics” awareness session, organized by IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka, was held on the 1st of May 2025 via Zoom, starting at 6:00 PM IST. As a continuation of the Robotics in Industry 4.0: Automation and Smart Manufacturing Workshop Series, this session aimed to explore the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning on industrial robotics within the context of Industry 4.0. The event featured a compelling talk by Dr. Nushara Wedasingha from the Faculty of Engineering at the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology. Dr. Wedasingha delved into how intelligent algorithms and learning systems are enabling robots to adapt, optimize, and collaborate in smart manufacturing environments. The session encouraged active participation through an open Q&A segment, where attendees engaged directly with the speaker, fostering an interactive and intellectually stimulating atmosphere. Hosted and supported by IEEE YP Sri Lanka, the event ran smoothly and highlighted the organization's dedication to equipping young professionals with cutting-edge technological knowledge.
