Orientation Programme – Faculty of Technology Date: 02 April 2025 Time: 09:00 AM – 10:00 AM Venue: Faculty of Technology, University of Sri Jayewardenepura Organizer: IEEE Student Branch of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura Event Description: The IEEE Orientation Programme at the Faculty of Technology was conducted to welcome and introduce new undergraduates to the IEEE Student Branch. The session aimed to familiarize students with the vision, mission, and opportunities provided by IEEE, both locally and globally. Participants were given insights into how they can benefit from IEEE membership, take part in upcoming events, join technical and non-technical committees, and grow through volunteering and leadership. The session was also an opportunity for new students to engage with current IEEE members and clarify questions about IEEE’s role in their academic and professional growth. This orientation served as a foundation to encourage more student participation and create awareness about the wide range of initiatives conducted under IEEE.
