WIE Nexus 2025 was a dynamic and engaging session aimed at introducing students to the essence of Women in Engineering (WIE) and its significance within the IEEE community. The event served as a platform to raise awareness about the WIE affinity group and to inspire students to become part of a global initiative that champions diversity, inclusion, and innovation in the field of engineering. The session was graced by Ms. Joshiga Ravikumar, the Section Student Representative of the IEEE Sri Lanka Section, whose insightful presentation provided attendees with a comprehensive understanding of both IEEE and WIE. She emphasized the mission of IEEE, the vital role WIE plays within the organization, and how students can actively engage with these communities to grow both personally and professionally. Our goal was to spark interest among students by highlighting the importance of IEEE and WIE, the value they bring to members, and the various benefits of being part of such a supportive and empowering network. The session also shed light on the events we organize, the volunteering opportunities available, and the positive impact students can make by getting involved. We provided clear guidance on how to become a WIE member and encouraged students to participate in upcoming activities and initiatives. Attendees were introduced to future events and projects planned by the WIE team, showcasing a vibrant calendar of opportunities to connect, learn, and lead. Looking ahead, we are excited to continue hosting WIE Nexus and similar awareness sessions in the years to come. Our mission remains to educate, empower, and inspire students to embrace leadership, and contribute meaningfully to the IEEE and WIE communities.
