As part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Faculty of Science, the Physics Society (PHYSOC) of the Department of Physics, in collaboration with the IEEE EDS and NTC Student Branch Chapter of the University of Jaffna, conducted an impactful outreach program titled "School Backyard Physics Lab." The event, held at Mn/De La Salle College in Nanattan, Mannar, reached 220 students from seven schools within the Madu Zonal Education Division of the Mannar District. The program aimed to strengthen the students' understanding of Grade 10 and O/L physics concepts through interactive teaching sessions and hands-on practical activities using science kits. The theoretical sessions simplified complex topics with real-life analogies, making physics more relatable and enjoyable. In parallel, the practical component allowed students to experiment, innovate, and apply their knowledge, fostering excitement for science.
