Description
The introductory session of Innovate with Ballerina 2025 was successfully held on 4th June,2025, via Zoom , organized by the IEEE Student Branch and the IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter of the University of Moratuwa . The event aimed to provide participants with a clear understanding of the competition, its structure, and the Ballerina programming language, developed by WSO2 . The session began with a welcome by the host, followed by a welcome speech from the Chairman of the Student Branch, Sanjula Gathsara . A recap video of Innovate with Ballerina 2024 showcased the creativity and impact of the previous edition. The keynote speaker , Ms. Asma Jabir , Technical Lead at WSO2 , then delivered an insightful session on cloud-native development and Ballerina’s capabilities. Event Chairperson Lakindu Kariyawasam provided a detailed overview of the 2025 competition, including the format, timeline, team formation, and upcoming workshops. A Q&A session was conducted via Slido, where participants had the opportunity to clarify their doubts. The event concluded with a token of appreciation to the speaker, a group photo, and closing remarks by the host. The session successfully set the stage for the competition and encouraged active participation in the journey ahead.
