DesignHer is an exclusive online competition aimed at empowering female undergraduates by providing them a platform to demonstrate their skills in software development and technology. Organized by IEEE WIE at the University of Ruhuna, this initiative focuses on closing the gender gap in STEM by creating opportunities tailored for young women in engineering. Mode: Virtual (Online) Participants: Female undergraduates from the University of Ruhuna Submission: Figma design and hosted front-end development for a given theme Judge Panel: Evaluated by past female undergraduates from the Women in Engineering Affinity Group, UoR, who are now professionals in the software industry. Themes & Sample Topics: Participants choose one category and build a solution related to: Career & Internships – Job/internship access, mentorship e.g., InternConnect for Women Education & Learning – STEM education resources e.g., Women Who Code Hub Health & Wellness – Physical/mental health tools e.g., PeriodPal – Menstrual tracker Security & Safety – Digital and physical safety e.g., CyberSafety Guide Community & Empowerment – Social impact & engagement e.g., WIE Affinity Group Website ⚙️ Technical Rules: Frontend only : HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Vue, etc. Responsive Design : Must work on both desktop and mobile Pages : Minimum of 2–4 functional pages Libraries allowed : Tailwind, Bootstrap, etc. Optional features : Animations, interactivity, dummy API/JSON 📤 Submission Requirements: Submit via GitHub with the following: Repo with structured code and README.md : Topic justification Technologies used Key features Vercel link (mandatory) Figma design/prototype (mandatory) 4-min screen recording video (Google Drive link, public) Submit GitHub repo link via a Google Form
