The IEEE WIE Student Branch Affinity Group of the University of Jaffna , in collaboration with the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Student Branch Chapter , successfully organized the “School-Level Awareness Workshop on AI and IoT with Hands-On Training” on July 10, 2025 from 9:00 A.M to 3:00 P.M. This event was specially conducted for students from Vavuniya North Zonal Education Schools , aiming to introduce them to the transformative world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) through a series of interactive and practical sessions. The workshop featured insightful presentations and engaging training activities led by Dr. (Mrs.) B. Mayurathan , Senior Lecturer & Head, and Mr. S. Suthakar , Senior Lecturer, from the Department of Computer Science, University of Jaffna. Participants gained valuable exposure to emerging technologies, deepened their understanding of AI and IoT fundamentals, and explored real-world applications through hands-on experience — inspiring curiosity and innovation among the younger generation.
