Here's a session description tailored for AlgoAce Session 04: Dynamic Programming : AlgoAce: From Basics to Brilliance A skill-building workshop series for undergraduate students, aimed at equipping them with the essential tools and techniques to excel in competitive programming and coding challenges. In Session 04 , we explored Dynamic Programming (DP) — a vital technique for solving complex algorithmic problems efficiently. This session was designed to help participants understand the core principles of DP, including optimal substructure, overlapping subproblems, and memoisation, and how to apply these concepts to solve real-world computational problems to optimise space and time complexities, addressing the resource bottlenecks. Led by Mr. Madushan Ilangakoon , an accomplished educator and IEEE Global Volunteer, the session provided an engaging mix of theory and hands-on exercises. Mr. Ilangakoon’s insightful guidance and clear explanations empowered participants to think critically about problem-solving approaches in coding competitions. By the end of the session, attendees gained the confidence to tackle challenging DP problems with ease. With a strong foundation in DP, the students are now better equipped to take on future challenges, including the upcoming IEEE Xtreme 19.0.
