On July 23, 2023 , the IEEE Student Branch of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka proudly hosted Frontiers in Tech 8.0 , an enlightening virtual session on Cyber Security & Digital Forensics , conducted via Zoom. This session focused on the fundamentals of cybersecurity , exploring real-world cyber threats, cybercrime tactics, hacking methodologies, and the essential practices of digital forensics . Students learned how to protect themselves online and gained exposure to career paths in one of the most in-demand and fast-growing sectors of tech. The speaker, Mrs. Samadhi Senanayake , engaged the audience with real-world case studies and practical knowledge on cybercrimes, online safety, ethical hacking, and digital forensics techniques. The session shed light on the growing importance of cybersecurity and how students can build careers in this evolving and vital field. Participants walked away with a deeper understanding of how to stay safe online, and many were inspired to pursue further study and work in cyber defense. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A and community engagement via WhatsApp.
