On 26th July 2025 , the IEEE Student Branch of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka hosted RU.UX 2025 , a hands-on UI/UX workshop aimed at equipping students and tech enthusiasts with knowledge on modern design practices. Held at the ‘Sollertia’ IT Building Complex , the event featured Mr. Akila Weerakoon , a leading UI/UX Tech Lead, who shared deep insights on crafting intuitive, functional, and appealing digital experiences. The workshop covered the impact of UI/UX on digital product success , highlighted industry-standard tools and techniques , and emphasized how thoughtful design contributes to user engagement and satisfaction. Participants engaged in interactive discussions, design critiques, and received firsthand exposure to professional design thinking processes. Although, this session explores the importance of UI/UX design in today’s fast-evolving digital world. From improving user satisfaction to driving business value, attendees will gain practical knowledge on how effective design transforms user experiences. The session also highlights key trends, industry workflows, and foundational design principles that every aspiring tech professional should know. The session concluded with a note of appreciation to the speaker and a photo session to commemorate the collaborative learning experience.
