On 19th May 2025, the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) Student Branch Chapter of the University of Ruhuna and the SB organized a successful Awareness Session for its newly selected volunteers. The session aimed to welcome new team members and provide them with a comprehensive understanding of the chapter’s mission, operational framework, and opportunities for engagement. PRIMARY OBJECTIVES OF THE SESSION • To introduce the mission, vision, and structure of IEEE and IEEE RAS. • Encourage IEEE student memberships and active volunteerism. • To familiarize new volunteers with the responsibilities and expectations within the chapter. • To share insights into past achievements of IEEE SB and future initiatives of IEEE RAS – University of Ruhuna. • Strengthen the involvement and enthusiasm of the newly selected volunteers, particularly first-year students.
