IEEE SB Meeting

March 21, 2025 · 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM @ Galle, Faculty of Engineering,

Description

The inaugural joint Executive Committee Meeting for the year was successfully held with the participation of all 72 executive members representing the Main Executive Committee and the six respective chapters and affinity group — Power and Energy Society (PES), Communications Society (ComSoc), Computer Society, Industry Applications Society (IAS), Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group, and Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) — under the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Ruhuna. This collaborative session served as a key milestone in aligning the entire leadership body toward the common vision and mission for the year. The meeting provided an open platform for introducing the full ExCom team, sharing the annual roadmap of each chapter, and discussing major upcoming initiatives. It also included a detailed briefing on the responsibilities, reporting structures, and expectations from each role. Beyond administrative planning, the meeting fostered a highly interactive environment where volunteers could connect, exchange ideas, and share experiences across chapters. The session encouraged teamwork, inspired leadership, and laid the foundation for a culture of collaboration and innovation. This unified beginning not only boosted morale but also empowered the volunteers with a sense of purpose and belonging within the larger IEEE community at University of Ruhuna.
