The IEEE Student Branch Officer Training 2025, organized by SLSAC and hosted by the SLIIT IEEE Student Branch, successfully empowered newly appointed IEEE volunteers and committee members. This comprehensive program was designed to equip participants with the essential knowledge, tools, and confidence needed to carry out their leadership roles effectively. The session began with a warm welcome and an inspiring address by the IEEE Sri Lanka Section Chair, followed by a structured officer training segment. Key topics included the role and hierarchy of a student branch, IEEE tools and platforms, financial management, and volunteer engagement. Attendees were recognized during a special appreciation session, and an engaging entertainment break helped build camaraderie. The event also introduced several IEEE Operating Units, including Women in Engineering, Young Professionals, SIGHT, and the Student Activities Committee, helping participants better understand the broader IEEE ecosystem. With interactive discussions, leadership-focused content, and an opportunity for student branches to connect during the final meetup, the training program significantly strengthened participants’ skills in communication, delegation, strategic planning, and conflict resolution.
