The Main Event of TechX Sri Lanka 2025, organized by the IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka, was held on July 26, 2025, at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU). With around 100 participants—including IEEE members, students, and young professionals—the event aimed to foster innovation, leadership, and sustainable technological solutions among undergraduates. The day commenced with an Inauguration Ceremony and a Welcome Speech by TechX Chair Mr. Hashan Maduwantha. The Chief Guest, Prof. S. Vasanthapriyan, emphasized the role of innovation in Sri Lanka’s tech development. The technical and professional sessions featured expert speakers: Mr. Shameera Prajapriya (Microsoft MVP) – on Microsoft’s emerging technologies. Prof. V.G.T.N. Vidanagama – on IEEE’s value to student development. Mr. Dimuthu Anuraj – on humanitarian tech and SDGs. Mr. Vidura Bandara – on leveraging IEEE CS for career growth. A highlight of the afternoon was the Students to Young Professionals Transition Panel, moderated by Ms. Tharaka Munasinghe, with speakers from academia and industry sharing real-world advice. The event concluded with the INNOVA Ideathon Award Ceremony, a Vote of Thanks, and Closing Remarks. Additionally, a Nano Mentoring Session under the IEEE CS SYP Micromentoring System featured one-on-one mentor-mentee guidance by Mr. Yohan Joseph, and Ms. Vismini Amarasinghe. TechX Sri Lanka 2025 was a comprehensive and well-structured initiative that successfully inspired learning, networking, and innovation-driven growth.
