As part of the Moratuwa Engineering Research Conference (MERCon 2025), the IEEE GRSS SBC of UoM and the IEEE GRSS Sri Lanka Chapter organized the first MERCon 2025 workshop: “Tracking the Invisible – Remote Sensing for Greenhouse Gas Monitoring ” . This in-person workshop targeted members of the Sri Lankan university community interested in Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The session focused on innovative applications of remote sensing in monitoring greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, with a special emphasis on methane detection technologies.
