As part of the Innovation Nation Sri Lanka initiative, which strives to build an innovation and entrepreneurial culture among university students and foster a Technologically Enabled Innovation-Driven Entrepreneurial Sri Lanka, IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka organized the Provincial Awareness Session. The event was held online on 28th April 2025 at 8:00 PM, targeting enthusiastic undergraduates. The session aimed to inspire and empower university students to take their first steps toward innovation and leadership, while also encouraging active participation in IEEE as a platform for professional development and global networking. The highlight of the session was an engaging keynote by Mr. Manodya Nabadawewa, Manager at TRACE Sri Lanka and Chair of Student Activities at IEEE Sri Lanka Section. He delivered an insightful talk on nurturing innovation mindsets, the role of youth in Sri Lanka’s tech evolution, and how platforms like IEEE and TRACE can support students in becoming future-ready changemakers. Attendees actively participated in the interactive session, taking part in live Q&A discussions and engaging with the speaker on real-world applications of innovation and entrepreneurship. The atmosphere was energetic and motivating, reflecting the enthusiasm of Sri Lanka’s next generation of innovators. In conclusion, the session resonated strongly with the mission of Innovation Nation Sri Lanka and IEEE Young Professionals, successfully inspiring university students to explore opportunities in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship, while aligning with the broader vision of a future-ready, innovation-driven Sri Lanka.
