The first session of Gammaddata IEEE API 4.0 was organized by the IEEE Power and Energy Society Student Branch Chapter (IEEE PES SBC - UOM) , IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Student Branch Chapter (IEEE RAS SBC - UOM) , and IEEE Industry Applications Society Student Branch Chapter (IEEE IAS SBC - UOM) . This session was conducted online on 4th September from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM , providing school students across Sri Lanka an opportunity to participate in the programme from the comfort of their homes. During the session, volunteers introduced Python Basics , covering fundamental concepts such as data types, for loops, and the application of Python in Machine Learning. Additionally, students were introduced to Graphical Programming , allowing them to visualise programming concepts interactively. The session was highly interactive, with students encouraged to ask questions and clarify their understanding, fostering engagement and active learning. Two separate online sessions were held to cater to all students, conducted in Sinhala and Tamil . This session targeted students from grades 6 to 11 , aiming to spark curiosity and enhance their problem-solving and programming skills. The online format allowed students from every district in Sri Lanka to participate, ensuring the initiative reached a broad audience. This session set the stage for the next phases, culminating in the third day, where volunteers will visit schools and engage directly with the students to implement the projects learned during the online sessions.
