The Young Protégé 2025 Industry Visit to WSO2, organized by StudPro 8.0 under IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka, provided mentees with an invaluable opportunity to experience the culture, innovation, and technology of one of Sri Lanka’s leading global software companies. During the visit, participants were introduced to WSO2’s history, mission, and cutting-edge open-source technology platforms. The session included presentations by WSO2 professionals, who shared insights on the company’s journey from a Sri Lankan startup to a globally recognized enterprise software leader. Special emphasis was placed on career opportunities, skill requirements, and the mindset needed to thrive in the IT industry. The interactive format enabled mentees to ask questions about real-world projects, software engineering practices, and the importance of innovation in a competitive global market. In addition, WSO2’s HR team provided practical advice on recruitment processes, workplace culture, and professional growth opportunities. The visit not only enhanced participants’ technical knowledge and industry awareness but also strengthened their motivation to align academic learning with real-world applications. It successfully bridged the gap between theory and practice, making it one of the highlights of the Young Protégé 2025 program.
