The IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) Student Branch Chapter of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University successfully organized සිප්සතර (Sipsathara) 2025 , a two-stage CSR initiative held on the 19th and 20th of August 2025 to uplift underprivileged school children through digital empowerment and academic support. Stage I took place on 19th August at WP/KE Dharmaraja Vidyalaya, Ragama , where the existing IT laboratory was renovated and upgraded into a vibrant space for learning. The lab was refurbished, reorganized, and equipped with computers, educational software, and modern tools, giving students their first real opportunity to engage in hands-on digital learning. This initiative bridged the digital divide faced by the school and created a foundation for students to explore, create, and develop vital ICT skills. The contribution of our main sponsor, Vision Care Opticals (Pvt) Ltd. , played a key role in making this transformation possible. Stage II was held on 20th August at Molkawa Maha Vidyalaya , where our team conducted interactive theory and practical sessions for students in Grades 7 to 11. The sessions, focused on electrical and electronic concepts aligned with the school syllabus, went beyond traditional classroom teaching by integrating engaging lessons with hands-on experiments. Younger students were introduced to practical science for the first time, while senior students found the program especially useful for their exam preparation. The enthusiasm and feedback from the students highlighted the importance of such initiatives in inspiring creativity, curiosity, and interest in STEM education. Through both stages, Sipsathara 2025 created a lasting impact by improving access to digital education, strengthening academic knowledge, and motivating students to embrace technology with confidence and curiosity.
