The IEEE Student Branch of the University of Jaffna proudly celebrated IEEE Day 2025 with great enthusiasm, recognizing innovation, collaboration, and the spirit of the IEEE community. The celebration began with a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony, marking the unity and achievements of IEEE members worldwide. The event highlighted the remarkable accomplishments of the Student Branch and IEEE Sri Lanka Section Awards 2025, where the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group was honored as the Outstanding Affinity Group 2025, and the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) Chapter received the Emerging Chapter Award 2025. A special Tech Talk titled “Bridging Communities with IEEE” was conducted by Ms. Warunika Hippola, Chair of IEEE Region 10 Women in Engineering Committee 2025 (South Asia) and Lecturer at SLTC Research University. She shared valuable insights on the role of IEEE in uniting professionals, advancing technology, and fostering academic and industrial growth. As part of IEEE Day celebrations, the IEEE Article Writing Competition 2025 winners were also announced, and certificates were presented to recognize their creative contributions. The event concluded with a joyful group photo session, capturing the memorable moments of teamwork, pride, and celebration.
