The Annual General Meeting of the IEEE MTTs Student Branch Chapter, University of Moratuwa , brought together students, faculty, and distinguished guests to celebrate the chapter’s achievements and future vision. The event featured welcome addresses, a keynote speech by Dr. Syed Muzahir Abbas , introductions by Prof. Buddhika Jayasekara and Dr. Chamira U.S. Edussooriya , and the appointment of the new Executive Committee . Highlights included the unveiling of the new chapter logo and a vote of thanks by the incoming Chairman, Shenal Ranasinghe . The AGM marked a milestone in fostering innovation, research, and collaboration in microwave theory, antennas, and RF technologies at the University of Moratuwa.

12:00 PM – Opening and Welcome Guests Compere’s opening remarks introducing the Annual General Meeting of IEEE MTT-S SBC, University of Moratuwa. 12:05 PM – Welcome Speech by Chapter Advisor Dr. Chamira U.S. Edussooriya delivered the welcome address, emphasizing innovation and collaboration in microwave research. 12:10 PM – Welcome Address by Professor Buddhika Jayasekara Professor Jayasekara shared insights on interdisciplinary growth between robotics and microwave technologies. 12:20 PM – Keynote Speech Dr. Syed Muzahir Abbas, IEEE MTT-S YP Region 10 Coordinator (Macquarie University, Australia), presented advancements in reconfigurable and flexible antennas for 5G and IoT. 12:45 PM – Introduction to MTT-S Overview of the IEEE MTT-S mission, achievements, and upcoming initiatives. 12:50 PM – Nomination of Chapter Advisor and Executive Committee Outgoing Chair Sanjula Gathsara conducted the nomination process for the new ExCom. 12:55 PM – Unveiling of New Chapter Logo Official reveal of the IEEE MTT-S UoM Chapter logo with guest participation. 1:00 PM – Vote of Thanks Incoming Chairman Shenal Ranasinghe delivered closing remarks and acknowledgments.
