Wisdom Waves 1.0 The IEEE WIE Affinity Group at the University of Ruhuna in collaboration with other IEEE chapters proposes, "Wisdom Waves" is an engaging online webinar series designed to foster insightful discussions on various topics that inspire and educate participants. This initiative fosters chapter collaboration through partnerships and networking while enabling knowledge sharing between graduates, final-year undergraduates and other undergraduate students for mentorship and growth. By addressing key issues and providing valuable guidance, "Wisdom Waves" seeks to create an enriching learning experience for attendees from diverse backgrounds. Each session will highlight a different subject, led by a knowledgeable speaker, to provide a well-rounded learning experience. Session 04: CVs, LinkedIn & First Impressions – Let’s Talk What HRs Want. The fourth session of Wisdom Waves 2025 , held on 11th September 2025, focused on empowering undergraduates with essential career development skills through the session titled “CVs, LinkedIn & First Impressions – Let’s Talk What HRs Want.” The session was conducted by Ms. Zainab Usoof , HR Executive at Delivergate and Former HR Executive at CodeGen International . With her extensive experience in human resources and recruitment, Ms. Usoof shared valuable insights on creating impactful CVs, optimizing LinkedIn profiles, and making strong first impressions during interviews and professional interactions. Participants actively engaged throughout the session, gaining practical tips and real-world perspectives on how to stand out in internships and job applications. The interactive nature of the event encouraged questions and discussions, helping students understand what HR professionals truly look for in candidates. With the enthusiastic participation of undergraduates from various engineering disciplines, the session successfully guided attendees on building a professional identity and unlocking their edge in the competitive job market.
