The Awards Ceremony & the Banquet , held as the concluding event of MERCon 2025 at The Kingsbury, Colombo , was graced by the Chair of the IEEE Sri Lanka Section, Prof. S. Vasanthapriyan, Prof. Jason Mars, Prof. Lingjia Tang, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Moratuwa, Prof. Jagath Manathunga, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies of the University of Moratuwa, Senior Prof. Ruwan Gopura, Conference Chair of MERCon 2025, Prof. Dileeka Dias, Director of Research of University of Moratuwa, Prof. Buddhika Jayasekara and the Director of the Engineering Research Unit of University of Moratuwa, Dr. Sulochana Sooriyarachchi along with heads of departments, senior academics and other distinguished guests. During the ceremony, Prof. Lingjia Tang, faculty member of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan, delivered a Keynote Address , enriching the conference with insights on cutting-edge research perspectives. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Best Paper Awards across the 19 technical tracks, recognizing outstanding research contributions and scholarly excellence. On a heartfelt note, tokens of appreciation were presented to sponsors and keynote speakers, acknowledging their contributions to the success of MERCon 2025. With the blend of cutting-edge research, keynote insights, and engaging workshops, MERCon 2025 fulfilled its role as an international platform for advancing engineering innovation.
