The IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) Sri Lanka Chapter participated in the LEARN36 Meeting held on October 23–24, 2025, in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The event, organised by the Lanka Education and Research Network (LEARN), brought together representatives from universities, research institutes, and industry partners to discuss advancements in digital infrastructure, education, and research collaboration. As part of the conference program, the IEEE GRSS Sri Lanka Chapter conducted an awareness session under the theme “LEARN Services Awareness Session in Partnership with IEEE GRSS.” The session introduced participants to the scope and activities of IEEE GRSS and highlighted opportunities for collaboration in geospatial data science, Earth observation, and remote sensing research within Sri Lanka’s academic and research community. The GRSS session complemented LEARN’s broader themes on connectivity, cybersecurity, e-learning, and cloud collaboration, including presentations on eduID, eduroam, LEARN-CSIRT, and research data management. The session successfully promoted GRSS engagement among participants and strengthened the society’s presence within the national research and education network ecosystem.
