The 14th IEEE Sri Lanka Section Students | Young Professionals | Women in Engineering Congress (SL SYWC 2025) was held from 26th to 28th September 2025 at Jie Jie Beach Hotel, Panadura. Organized under the theme “Innovation for Sustainability,” the event gathered over 250 delegates, including international participants, providing a platform for knowledge sharing, leadership, and collaboration. The congress opened with welcome remarks by Mr. Uvindu Kodikara, Chair, IEEE SLSYWC 2025, followed by sessions highlighting IEEE’s journey and technological innovation. Prof. S. Vasanthapriyan, Prof. Ruwan Gopura, and Prof. Roshan Ragel delivered inspiring keynotes on engineering, medical technology, and AI for sustainability. The IEEE ComSoc Student Tech Summit featured Dr. Rajanikanth Aluvalu, Mr. M. Sai Prashanth, and Dr. Syed Muzahir Abbas, who shared insights on sustainable innovation in the Global South. The day concluded with Dr. Subodha Charles’s session on volunteering and the vibrant Handewa cultural night. Day two began with IEEE Chapter Stalls hosted by IAS, MTT-S, GRSS, EMBS, CASS–CEDA, Dataport, IES, DEIS, WIE, and platinum partner AHZ Associates. A major highlight was the hosting of IEEE Region 10 Career and Leadership Aid Program (CLAP) in Sri Lanka, featuring Prof. Takako Hashimoto, Mr. Hwa Chiang (Leo), Prof. Rajendrasinh Jadeja, Dr. Aishwarya Bandala, and Dr. Anjali Diwan. The evening concluded with the IEEE Sri Lanka Section Awards Ceremony and DJ Night. The final day included the IEEE IAS CMD Workshop by Mr. Janitha Dissanayake and a panel on “Hardware is Hard – But Worth It,” followed by Congress Diaries by Mr. Manodya Nabadewewa. The success of SL SYWC 2025 reflected the dedication of its organizing committee and partners, celebrating innovation, learning, and the enduring spirit of IEEE.
