Day 5 focused on Proteomics and Metabolomics, providing an overview of how proteins and metabolites reveal the molecular functions and biochemical activities within living systems. The session explained the importance of these fields in biomarker discovery, drug development, and personalized medicine. Participants explored key databases such as UniProt, PDB, PRIDE, and STRING for proteomics, and HMDB, KEGG, LIPID MAPS, and Metabolomics Workbench for metabolomics. They also learned to analyze and visualize data using tools like MaxQuant, Perseus, Cytoscape, and MetaboAnalyst. The session concluded with the concept of integrative multi-omics, highlighting how combining proteomic and metabolomic data leads to deeper insights into biological systems and precision medicine.
