Artemia 1.0 – Pitching Session Date: 3rd November 2025 Time: 8:00 PM onwards Platform: Zoom Speaker: Mr. Nalaka Samarasinghe – Manager, Engineering Hub at IFS Participant Count: Around 35 Session Overview: The Pitching Session of Artemia 1.0, organized by the IEEE WIE Affinity Group of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, was conducted to help finalists master the art of effective pitching and prepare for the grand finale. Discussion Points: Mastery of Pitching: Mr. Nalaka guided participants on performing an impactful pitch using the 6-block flow model Best Pitching Practices: Demonstrated examples of world-class pitches and explained key takeaways. Safety by Design Essentials: Discussed the importance of building trust, resilience, and accountability in design. Presentation Techniques: Shared practical tips for clear communication, confident delivery, and engaging storytelling. 60-Second Pitch Drill: Each team was given an opportunity to perform a quick pitch to apply the concepts learned. Announcements: The winners of the Designathon Phase were officially announced as: Lumora Inpix Binary Bots Valkyries Theodora’s Bloom Conclusion: The session concluded successfully with active participation and valuable insights shared by Mr. Nalaka. Participants gained practical guidance on structuring and delivering impactful pitches, preparing them for the upcoming final event of Artemia 1.0.
