IEEEXtreme 19.0 was held from October 25th to October 26th, bringing together enthusiastic student programmers from the University of Jaffna for the 24-hour global coding challenge. The event began with an early morning check-in at CSL 1 & 2, followed by the official start of the competition at 5:00 AM. Participants received name tags and refreshments, and support was provided throughout the day to ensure a smooth experience. Before the main event, an Awareness Session was conducted on 13th September via Zoom, led by Mr. Eranga Kodithuwakku (R10 Co-Lead, IEEEXtreme 19.0). The session covered the benefits of participating, insights from previous years, rules, prize details, the CS Academy platform, and effective use of AI tools. To keep participants energized, refreshments such as Nescafé, iced tea, and biscuits were available throughout the day, along with arranged meals and break times. All registered teams competed this year, with the majority participating in person and a few joining virtually due to unavoidable circumstances. The competition showcased strong teamwork, problem-solving skills, and enthusiasm, making IEEEXtreme 19.0 a successful and motivating experience for all participants.

October 25th: 5:00 AM – Competition Begins Welcome and introduction session, where the rules and guidelines will be shared. 5:30 AM – Official Start of Coding The IEEEXtreme 19.0 competition begins. Teams can start working on their problems. 8:30 AM – Breakfast Participants can take a short break to grab breakfast. From 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM– Lunch Break Note: Participants need to arrange their own lunch. 5:00 PM – Refreshment Break Refreshments will be provided for participants. 8:00 PM– Dinner Dinner will be served, giving participants another chance to recharge. October 26th: 3:00 AM – Refreshment Break A late-night snack to keep participants energized. 5:00 AM – End of Competition The coding competition officially concludes. All work must be submitted. 5:00 AM - 5:30 AM – Awarding Ceremony Announcement of winners and closing remarks. Nescafe, Nestea and biscuits were available throughout the competition, providing refreshments for participants. Additionally, a carrom board was set up from 8:30 PM for participants to enjoy some relaxation and social interaction.
