The IEEE Communications Society Student Branch Chapter of the University of Moratuwa held its Annual General Meeting for the 2025/26 term on 16 October 2025 at ENTC-1. The session officially marked the conclusion of the 2024/25 term and the transition to the newly elected Executive Committee for 2025/26. The proceedings began with the traditional lighting of the oil lamp followed by a welcome address by the outgoing Chairperson, Mr. Dusara Gamindu. The Secretary, Ms. Yasoda Lasiru, presented the minutes of the previous AGM, and the Assistant Treasurer, Ms. Dimagi Hennadige, delivered the financial report for the 2024/25 term. A summary of major chapter activities including ComFix and the field visit was presented, highlighting the achievements and contributions of the outgoing committee. Certificates of appreciation were awarded to the Executive Committee and committee members of the 2024/25 term in recognition of their dedication and service. The Chapter Advisor, Prof. Tharaka Samarasinghe, addressed the gathering, followed by a token of appreciation presented to him by the outgoing Chairperson. The election of the new Executive Committee for the 2025/26 term was then conducted, officially appointing Mr. Praveen Dissanayaka as the incoming Chairperson. The newly elected Chairperson delivered his first address, expressing gratitude and outlining the direction for the upcoming term. A token of appreciation was also presented to the Student Branch. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the newly appointed Secretary, Mr. Mihiran Wickramarathne. This AGM served as a meaningful transition between terms and reaffirmed the chapter’s commitment to impactful initiatives, member engagement, and strengthening IEEE ComSoc activities within the university.
