Vision Fusion Chapter 1 - Futurista was an inspiring and empowering session organized collaboratively by IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) and IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS) , together with the Department of Computer Science and Informatics, Uva Wellassa University . The event aimed to guide undergraduates into the evolving world of Information Technology, with a primary focus on first year students. Second year undergraduates also participated, contributing to a vibrant and engaging learning atmosphere. The session featured two esteemed industry professionals: • Ms. Sudharma Subhashini , Site Reliability Engineer, IFS Unified Support Delivery, who shared deep insights into reliability engineering, industry expectations, and building a strong foundation as an aspiring IT professional. • Ms. Sudeera Tharunie , Senior IFS Technical Consultant at Creative Software, who inspired students with her experiences in career development, technical growth, and leveraging opportunities in the IT sector. Futurista provided valuable exposure to real world industry practices, career pathways, and essential skills needed for success in the tech field. The event successfully bridged academic learning with industry perspective, empowering students to take confident steps toward shaping their future careers in IT.
