Description
Title: Spatial Active Noise Control: from theory to practice Abstract: How to reduce acoustic noise, a common disturbance throughout our daily life? The active noise control (ANC) technique uses ‘secondary sound sources’ to generate ‘anti-noise signals’ to reduce the ‘primary noise’, which has been successfully applied in noise-cancelling headphones. A growing research interest is in creating large quiet zones in three-dimensional (3-D) spaces, such as noise cancellation in aircraft and automobiles. In this talk, we will discuss applying the ANC technique to cancel low-frequency noise over spatial regions (Spatial A so that people can enjoy quietness without wearing noise-cancelling headphones. More specifically, we discuss A general spatial ANC framework based on spherical harmonic analysis of the spatial sound fields Analyse the best noise reduction performance that can be achieved for an ANC system. How to make the spatial ANC systems more feasible.
