The Industry Connect Session with The Capital Maharaja Group, organized under IEEE StudPro 8.0, provided undergraduates with the rare opportunity to explore Sri Lanka’s leading conglomerate known for its pioneering presence in media, manufacturing, and innovation. Participants visited the Capital Maharaja Group headquarters at Depanama, Pannipitiya, and experienced the operational ecosystem behind well-known media entities such as Sirasa TV, Shakthi TV, and NewsFirst. The visit aimed to expose students to real-world applications of technology, creativity, leadership, and communication within a large-scale corporate environment. With 100 participants, the session emphasized professional learning, industry insight, and networking opportunities that bridge academic knowledge with industrial practice. Organized by StudPro 8.0 in collaboration with IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka, the event fostered a deeper understanding of how multidisciplinary collaboration drives corporate and media innovation.
