On January 25, 2025, the IEEE Sri Lanka Inspire Career Compass – North Western Province Session was conducted at Wayamba University of Sri Lanka’s Faculty of Applied Science Auditorium with great success. 101 students from Sri Sarananda Central College, Wewagama, Assadduma Subarathii Junior School, and Thalahitimulla Junior School attended the session, which started at 9:00 a.m. This project was a component of the IEEE Sri Lanka Inspire program's ongoing endeavor to give schoolchildren, especially those in Grades 10 and 11, significant academic and career support as they get ready for important decisions regarding their education and careers. Undergraduate students from the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka conducted lively and participatory conversations during the event, which adhered to the Career Compass structure. Higher education paths, choosing subjects for Advanced Level coursework, and matching job chances with personal objectives were the main topics of the first section. The second section gave students the opportunity to ask questions and investigate their academic and career options while emphasizing goal-setting, motivation, and the development of future-ready abilities. Both professors and students gave the program very favorable reviews, praising the usefulness and applicability of the advice given. Under the direction of IEEE Sri Lanka Inspire, the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka IEEE Student Branch organized the event, which was enlightening and motivating for everyone in attendance.
