Career Compass Session - North Western Province

Wayamba University of Sri Lanka's Faculty of Applied Science Auditorium hosted the IEEE Sri Lanka Inspire Career Compass - North Western Province Session on 14th October, 2025 in Collaboration with IEEE Sri Lanka Inspire, with remarkable success. 114 students from Kuli/ KIrindawa Maha Vidyalaya, Kuli/ Lakviru Kumar Vidyalaya, Kuli/Mahimpitiya Junior School and Kuli/ Thalahitimulla Junior College which started at 9:00 a.m. This initiative was part of the IEEE Sri Lanka Inspire program's continuous effort to provide substantial academic and career assistance to pre University students, particularly those in Grades 10 and 11, as they prepare for critical decisions about their education and jobs. During the program, which followed the Career Compass framework, undergraduate students from Wayamba University of Sri Lanka engaged in animated and interactive discussions. The first segment focused on higher education pathways, selecting courses for Advanced Level curriculum, and aligning employment opportunities with personal goals. With a focus on goal-setting, motivation, and the development of skills that will be useful in the future, the second portion provided students with the chance to explore their academic and professional alternatives and ask questions. The curriculum received extremely positive evaluations from both instructors and students, who praised the advice's practicality and relevance. Everyone in attendance found the event, which was organized by the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka IEEE Student Branch under the guidance of IEEE Sri Lanka Inspire, to be both inspiring and educational.
