Description

The TerraX 2025 Design Challenge , organized by the IEEE GRSS Student Branch Chapter of the University of Moratuwa , was held on 25th October 2025 with the aim of inspiring innovative, Earth-focused solutions among undergraduates. The competition provided a platform for students to present creative design concepts addressing sustainability, environmental challenges, and the responsible use of Earth resources core themes central to the mission of IEEE GRSS. Participants showcased a diverse range of ideas, blending geospatial technologies, environmental engineering, and Earth observation insights to propose actionable solutions for a more sustainable future. The event featured a panel of expert judges who evaluated the proposals based on innovation, feasibility, technical depth, and real-world impact. TerraX 2025 successfully brought together motivated young innovators, encouraging interdisciplinary thinking and practical problem-solving. The event concluded with the announcement of winners and recognition of all teams for their outstanding contributions.
