Career Compass Session: Sabaragamuwa Province

The IEEE Sri Lanka Inspire Career Compass – Sabaragamuwa Province Session was successfully held on November 7, 2025, at the Old Auditorium of Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. The session commenced at 9.00 a.m. and brought together 103 students from Karagasthalawa Maha Vidyalaya and Sri Shariputhra Maha Vidyalaya. This initiative was part of the IEEE Sri Lanka Inspire program’s continued effort to provide meaningful career guidance and academic direction to school students particularly those in Grades 10 and 11 as they prepare for crucial educational and career decisions. The session followed the signature Career Compass format, featuring engaging and interactive discussions led by undergraduates from Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. The first segment focused on higher education pathways, subject selection for Advanced Level studies, and aligning personal goals with future career opportunities. The second segment highlighted motivation, goal setting, and the development of future-ready skills, offering students the opportunity to ask questions and explore academic and professional possibilities. The event received highly positive feedback from both students and teachers, who appreciated the relevance and practical nature of the guidance provided. Organized by the IEEE Student Branch of Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, under the guidance of IEEE Sri Lanka Inspire, the session served as an inspiring and informative experience for all participants.
