𝐈𝐄𝐄𝐄 𝐘𝐏𝐒𝐋 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓: 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬, 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐧𝐬 “𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘣𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘻𝘰𝘯𝘴. 𝘞𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘸𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳.” Innovation, collaboration, and professional growth embody the spirit of IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka (YPSL). As part of IEEE, the world's largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for humanity, YPSL serves as a bridge between academia and industry, fostering a dynamic community of young professionals committed to excellence. The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of IEEE YPSL in 2025 was a momentous occasion, celebrating the unwavering dedication of volunteers and the remarkable achievements of the past year under the exceptional leadership of Mr. Manodya Nabadawewa and his Executive Committee. Their efforts have empowered young professionals through impactful initiatives and fostered a strong sense of community. Held on 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐨 𝟏𝟎, the event began with a warm welcome from Mr. Manodya Nabadawewa, Chair of IEEE YPSL. The evening included an inspiring keynote speech by Mr. Heminda Jayaweera, Executive Director at TRACE – Sri Lanka, and an insightful address from Prof. Shanmuganathan Vasanthapriyan, Chair of IEEE Sri Lanka Section. The presence of distinguished guests, including Mr. Dhammika Marasinghe, Past Chair of IEEE Sri Lanka Section; Dr. Sankalpa Gamwarige, Managing Director & Senior Leader at Nagarro; and other notable dignitaries, added to the event’s significance. This gathering also marked a leadership transition from Mr. Manodya Nabadawewa to the newly elected Chair, Mr. Heshan Mallawaarachchi. YPSL remains committed to enhancing the professional journeys of young engineers and technologists through three core pillars: 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐟𝐭 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: YPSL empowers young professionals with essential skills through initiatives like “Let’s Talk” and “Y2NPro”, fostering both technical expertise and professional growth. 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞: From fresh graduates to school students, YPSL provides invaluable career insights through programs such as “SL Inspire” and “StudPro”, helping individuals navigate the complexities of professional and higher education landscapes. Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Cutting-Edge Technology: With a strong focus on AI and technological advancements, YPSL nurtures forward-thinking initiatives such as “Innovation Nation Sri Lanka” and “AI-Driven Sri Lanka”, extending their impact across all nine provinces. The year ended joyously, reflecting the dedication and hard work of the YPSL team. Their efforts earned an honourable mention at the 2024 IEEE YP Hall of Fame Awards, a prestigious recognition reflecting the perseverance and passion that fuel YPSL’s mission, marking the end of a highly successful year. As YPSL embarks on this new chapter, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing committee for their commitment and contributions, which have laid a strong foundation for future success. We are now moving forward with a fresh start under the new leadership of Mr. Heshan Mallawaarachchi and his Executive Committee, who are looking forward to an even more exemplary year ahead.
