SLIITXtreme 4.0 was the first-ever 24-hour competitive programming event organized by the IEEE Computer Society of SLIIT , designed to strengthen algorithmic thinking and problem-solving skills among university students. Spanning 2–3 weeks , the event combined online sessions, pre-event webinars, and the 24-hour hackathon to bridge academic knowledge with real-world competitive programming. The program followed a three-phase structure : Pre-event webinars covering competitive programming fundamentals, platform familiarization, strategy, and time management 24-hour main hackathon featuring algorithmic and logical challenges on the industry-standard HackerRank platform with real-time leaderboards Post-event activities , including evaluation by professional judges from the industry , results announcement, prizes, certificates, feedback sessions, and preparation guidance for IEEEXtreme 19.0 (2025) SLIITXtreme 4.0 fostered a strong competitive spirit, provided industry-level exposure , and recognized programming talent through awards and certificates, creating a complete end-to-end competitive programming journey for students across Sri Lanka.
