The IEEE MTT-S Student Branch Chapter of the University of Moratuwa organized a technical seminar titled “MHz to THz Technologies and Our Place in the Universe,” delivered by Dr. Goutam Chattopadhyay , Senior Scientist at NASA, IEEE Fellow, and President of the IEEE Microwave Theory & Technology Society (2025). The seminar provided a broad and insightful overview of microwave, millimeter-wave, and terahertz technologies, highlighting their applications across space exploration, communication systems, and scientific discovery. The session was highly engaging, encouraging active participation through questions, discussions, and interactive exchanges with students and faculty members. The event was further enriched by the presence of Dr. Syed Muzahir Abbas , IEEE MTT-S Young Professionals Region 10 Coordinator, and Prof. Arjuna Madanayaka , contributing to meaningful discussions and knowledge sharing. The seminar successfully inspired students and strengthened interest in RF and microwave engineering, aligning with the chapter’s objective of promoting technical excellence and community growth within IEEE MTT-S.
